Synopsis:
In the year 2118, the solar system from Earth to Jupiter's moons are colonized for scientific and commercial exploits. The space between is burgeoning with numerous commercial and scientific cargo and passenger vessels that service those colonies. No longer are humans hampered by the slow spacecraft motors of chemical combustion that dominated 100 years earlier. Now that fusion reactors are commercially common, Ion and Anti-Matter drives are the norm for spacecraft propulsion. This means, instead of taking years to traverse the void between Earth and Jupiter, it only takes several days now. Many gargantuan commercial freight vessels never land on any planet. They haul their cargo between the space-stations that orbit the planets and the moons. One such gargantuan commercial freight train is the Cormorant. The Cormorant is a freighter that is constructed out of numerous modules, each module serving a specialized function. Numerous Cargo Modules are attached between the Command Module and the Propulsion Module, forming a train. The young Captain, Nathan Lewis, struggles to make a mostly honest living shuttling cargo between the planets, while having to fight the interplanetary organized crime syndicates and the corrupt Sheriff. Nathan Lewis' crew consists of his genius daughter, Joi, who is the Chief Engineer, Carrie Montebello, who is the pilot, Ringfeld Wallis, who is the Chief Cargo Specialist, and John Smith, who is a Cargo Specialist. Having to live and work together aboard the Cormorant for years, they all form a practical family. But, one evil organized crime boss, Marty Washington, pushes Nathan Lewis too far. Nathan declares war against Marty, after Marty kills John's long-time friend. It ends-up in a battle between the Cormorant and Marty's many space pursuit fighters.
